Detective Bureau

The Shelby Township Police Department Detective Bureau is made up of sixteen Police Officers including one Lieutenant, two Sergeants, Detectives, one Court Officer and one administrative assistant. Our Detectives serve in assignments as day or night shift investigators, members of the undercover Special Investigations Unit, the Youth Bureau or as part of the DEA Task Force.

All Detectives are assigned cases and conduct the follow-up investigations needed to identify victims, witnesses and suspects involved in reported crimes. They are responsible for building complete and successful investigations that are forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for warrant authorization.

Some of the many duties performed by our investigators include surveillance, interviews and interrogations, search warrants, evidence collection, forensic data analysis, undercover operations and courtroom testimony.
