Vulnerable/Impaired Person Program (VIP)
The Vulnerable or Impaired Person (VIP) Program is a statewide initiative that allows voluntary enrollment into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System database. Enrollment must be completed by a parent, legal guardian or power of attorney for the individual. The program helps law enforcement identify individuals who may not be able to identify themselves and assists in returning them to a safe environment. VIP provides officers with immediate access to family contact information through a mobile fingerprint scanner, which helps reunite vulnerable individuals with their loved ones more quickly.
Please visit mi.gov/MSP-VIP for enrollment instructions. The cost of enrollment is $30, cash only, and appointments for digital fingerprinting must be made by contacting Ron Mix at 586-731-2121 ext. 343.
