K-9 Unit

The Shelby Township Police Department currently has three K-9 handlers and deploys three dogs: one German Shepherd, one Belgian Malinois and one Dutch Shepherd. All three K-9s are highly trained dual-purpose police dogs. Our K-9 officers live at home with their handlers and are just as comfortable pursuing a bad-guy as they are interacting with families at township events and posing for pictures with our littlest citizens.

To request a K-9 appearance at your community event, school or business, please fill out an Officer Presentation Request or call Sgt. Wojcik at 586-731-2121, ext. 455.
