If you wish to file a *Freedom of Information Act request for a police incident, please fill out the form below.

*Michigan's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), MCL 15.231 et seq, provides that certain persons can receive copies of most public records of public bodies upon written request. The person must sufficiently describe the records he or she seeks. The public body may charge a fee to cover the cost of complying with a person's FOIA request.

Please note that you will receive your response by email. 

Other Twp FOIA Requests that are not police department related are processed through the Shelby Township Human Resources Department.  You can find the instructions for those requests HERE.

Flash drive -$2.10 each
Postage - Actual U.S.P.S. Cost

LABOR SCHEDULE
This fee is the hourly plus a multiplier of fringe to partially cover the benefit cost of the lowest-paid employee capable of performing the request. The rate below is the lowest paid employee wage. You will be notified prior to the processing of this request of this wage rate is different.

Research (records clerk) - $31.79 per hour (22.37 wage + fringe benefit cost)
Research (records mgr.) - $43.57 per hour (32.30 wage + fringe benefit cost)
Duplication (records clerk) - $31.79 per hour (22.37 wage + fringe benefit cost)
Duplication (records mgr.) - $43.57 per hour (32.30 wage + fringe benefit cost)
Redaction (records clerk) - $31.79 per hour (22.37 wage + fringe benefit cost)
Redaction (records mgr.) - $43.57 per hour (32.30 wage + fringe benefit cost)
